Position Summary
The Data Entry Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of data collection and reporting for the Shelter program. This individual will manage data related to shelter occupancy, resident demographics, and compliance with the Massachusetts Emergency Assistance Shelter program. The position is integral to maintaining funding eligibility by ensuring all mandated data is accurately uploaded to the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) web-based reporting system.
The Data Analyst I will be responsible for overseeing and improving data collection processes across the shelter team, ensuring compliance with state requirements, and conducting data-driven analyses to support strategic decision-making. This position offers opportunities for career growth within a structured Data Analyst career track (DA II, DA III).
After initial training and satisfactory performance assessment, this full-time role offers a hybrid or fully remote work option.

Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Reporting
- Oversee and manage data entry and reporting for all shelter-related metrics, including room occupancy, resident demographics, and compliance tracking.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of demographic data for ETO assessments and annual reporting.
- Ensure all data submissions meet EOHLC contract requirements and deadlines.
- Monitor updates in EOHLC reporting guidelines and implement necessary process adjustments.
Database Management
- Maintain and update data within EOHLC’s web-based reporting system.
- Utilize and optimize Salesforce CRM for data tracking, analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborate with shelter staff to ensure comprehensive and accurate data collection from all team members.
Compliance & Data Analysis
- Conduct data audits to verify accuracy, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze shelter data trends to provide insights and recommendations for program improvements.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive data in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Strategic & Administrative Support
- Prepare and submit annual and quarterly ETO assessments in collaboration with the Shelter Director.
- Assist in audits or reviews conducted by EOHLC or other funding agencies.
- Support data-related strategic planning efforts to enhance program performance and funding opportunities.

Qualifications
Education
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Social Sciences, Nonprofit Administration, or a related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Public Administration, or related discipline.
Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in data management, analysis, and reporting, preferably in a nonprofit or shelter environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce CRM (Required).
- Familiarity with the Massachusetts Emergency Assistance Shelter program and EOHLC reporting requirements (preferred).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Visio, Excel Power View) is a plus.

- Base Salary: Up to $65,000 per year
