Lead Behavior Technician

Location: Clinton/Laurens Area
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Starts at $19,00 (Compensation is based on experience/education)

At Project Hope Foundation, the largest nonprofit provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy in Upstate South Carolina, we are committed to providing high-quality services to more than 200 clients. Our Lead Behavior Technician is key in supporting therapy teams, mentoring RBTs, and helping clients achieve meaningful progress through evidence-based ABA practices.

What You’ll Do

Direct Service Responsibilities (Working 1:1 with Clients):

  • Work directly with clients with autism in fast-paced sessions, following individualized treatment plans.
  • Model therapy techniques for new hires, demonstrating pairing/rapport building, skill acquisition, and behavior reduction strategies.
  • Provide data-driven input to the BCBA to support treatment integrity.
  • Implement 1:1 sessions and group services across various settings (clinic, school, or community).
  • Utilize technology (tablets, Central Reach) to track data and document client progress.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, teachers, and therapists to promote learning across environments.

Indirect Service Responsibilities (Administrative & Leadership Duties):

  • Mentor and train RBTs in clinical best practices, including data collection, session documentation, and behavior management.
  • Oversee team meeting preparation, including analyzing progress data and drafting meeting notes.
  • Assist with onboarding new hires, conducting orientation checklists and Essential 5 Evaluations.
  • Manage Central Reach data entry and assist with behavior support coverage duties.
  • Participate in quality assurance checks, including reviewing and providing feedback on client session notes.
  • Lead group services and ensure consistency in behavior reduction and skill acquisition strategies.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Certification:

  • Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) (Required).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC) (Required).
  • Safety Care trained or willingness to complete training provided by PHF.

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RBT (Preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 months experience as an RBT with Project Hope Foundation demonstrating organizational understanding and clinical excellence (Preferred).
  • Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities (Preferred).
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using Central Reach, Google Suite, and digital data collection platforms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and actively engage in therapy sessions.
  • Physical ability to sit, kneel, stand, squat, and run during client interactions.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within a 30-minute radius.
  • A clear background check and TB test are required.
