What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal: Lead Technician, RBT position at Project Hope Foundation?
As a member of Project Hope Foundation (PHF), the Lead Technician works as an integral member
of the therapy team implementing ABA programs, reporting to a Hope Reach Supervisor. The Lead
Technician works on client teams under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
(BCBA) providing support in implementing and achieving client specific goals and provides clinical
and cultural mentorship to RBT team members. This role interacts with internal employees and
families providing input and support that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision and goals.
The only nonprofit provider of ABA therapy in Upstate South Carolina, Project Hope Foundation
offers a range of programs designed to meet the needs of our more than 200 clients, creating a
culture of compassion and commitment to providing high quality services.
Standard work hours occur between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday (35-40 hours per
week). Opportunities for growth are available.
Direct Service Job Responsibilities (i.e., direct implementation of a service with clients):
- Work with a client with autism in a fast-paced session to build skills, following an
individualized plan prepared by that client’s team Supervisor - Demonstrate programs during team meetings
- Model sessions for new hires to demonstrate exemplary pairing / rapport building,
programming, and behavior reduction procedures - Overlap with team members to collect data and to work with the BCBA/BCaBA to ensure
treatment integrity - Assist with fill in needs and direct 1:1 sessions within the clinic (97153 code)
- Implement 1:1 sessions to evaluate assessment goals, probe skill acquisition teaching and
prompting procedure, and probe behavior reduction protocols within a variety of settings
(i.e., clinic, schools, etc.) (97152 code) - Implementation of group services for clinic location (97154 code)
- Implementation and modeling of advanced skill acquisition and behavior reduction
curriculums for other RBTs (i.e., SBT, etc.) - Participate in regular team meetings for clients, including other therapists
- Teach replacement responses for difficult or disruptive behaviors
- Create a fun, engaging environment for clients, using each individual’s motivations to
promote meaningful learning opportunities and experiences - Collect data on clients’ progress and goals during sessions using a tablet provided by PHF
- Provide support to parents, teachers, and caregivers through the modeling of appropriate
interactions
Indirect Service Job Responsibilities (i.e., administrative time away from implementation of a
direct session with a client):
- Prepare for Team Meeting by analyzing program progression and creating Team Meeting
Notes with updates for team members and client’s parents - Take notes during Team Meetings on any updates to programming, as provided by client’s
Supervisor - New Hire Essential 5 Evaluations
- New Hire Orientations / Scavenger Hunt Check-Offs
- Train line therapists on pairing / rapport building, programming, and behavior reduction
procedures to ensure consistency - Email Team Meeting notes to client’s team and parents.
- Create and/or collect necessary program materials to implement client programs
- Other administrative duties assigned by client's supervisor
- Implement behavior support or other clinic coverage duties (ie. open/close duties,
bathroom breaks, lunch coverage, etc.) - Manages group services for their clinical location
- Assist with Central Reach programming and data input needs (ie. reporting data trends to
the supervisor, inputting targets into CR, inputting hard data into CR, etc.) - RBT Competency Checklist Assistant Assessor
- Communicate with fellow therapists and BCBAs regarding client programs
- Conduct weekly checks of client session notes and send results to therapists on team and
client supervisor - Email feedback from weekly checks of client session notes to therapist and supervisor
- Employee evaluations and presentation of the data from the employee evaluation to the
BCBA/BCaBA - Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and further develop best clinical
practices - Attend periodic paid trainings
- Collaborate and coordinate with all internal program leadership associated with PHF
- Models exemplary behavior both clinically and professionally; sets a good example for
attending to the needs of the clinic, exemplifies leadership as it pertains to the Senior
Therapist role. - Serves as a mentor for new hires; completing wellness checks and exemplifying Project
Hope Foundation’s core values and holds other team members to the same standards
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the RBT position, preferred
- Minimum of 3 months experience in the RBT position with Project Hope Foundation demonstrating organizational understanding and clinical excellence
- Represents and upholds Project Hope Foundation’s mission and core values.
- High School Diploma or the national equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC)
- Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Safety Care trained or commitment to become trained by successfully completing a course
provided by Project HOPE Foundation - Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, preferred
- Positive attitude and ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to prioritize and carry out multiple tasks and projects in a changing work
environment - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable transportation and car insurance
- Willingness to travel to and from one of our clinic, school, or clients’ homes within 30
minutes of your location - Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and actively engage with children in multiple settings
- Able to successfully be trained in a variety of data collection platforms; proficient in Central
Reach and Google Suite - Clear background check and TB test
- Shows interest in opportunities to advance within the organization; furthering relevant
education and continuing education within the field (Preferred)
