Responsibilities
Project L.I.F.E. provides a Child Care Centerfor its resident preschoolers while their parents are at work, school or other activities in the family’s Service Plan. As a hands-on provider of that child care, the teacher aid will:
1. Assist the child care coordinator in daily activities;
2. Work with small groups of children during times designated by the child care coordinator;
3. Lead parts of the Child Care Program as directed;
4. Prepare formula, snacks or meals and assist in planning menus;
5. Be alert and responsive to children’s needs; enable them to process their experiences;
6. Take general responsibility to children’s daily activities and program operation in the Child Care Centerwhen the coordinator is absent;
7. Share tasks required to keep the child care area and equipment safe, clean, and in order;
8. Assist the activities coordinator with activities for school-age children; and
9. Participate in staff conferences and staff training opportunities and a biweekly review with the childcare coordinator.
10. Not limited to other duties as assigned by childcare coordinator/executive director.
Qualifications
1. A.A.S., A.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education/Development.
2. Experience with preschool children.
3. Finger Printing
4. 2-3 years working with infants, preschoolers, and school age children
5. First Aid/CPR certificate
6. Mandated Certificate
7. Proficient in Microsoft Word
8. Sensitive to feelings children express in words and without words; consistent, caring, and firm in responses to children’s behavior.
9. Able and eager to follow through on assigned responsibilities.
10. Accepts supervision; works well with other staff and parents.
11, Works every-every-another weekend
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
