About us: Morry's Camp is a residential summer camp located in the Catskill Mountains of New York. Morry's Camp is the summer portion of the year round youth-development organization, Project Morry. We believe that summer camps provide youth with a unique opportunity for growing independence, self-discovery, and skill building. Our mission is to provide our youth access to these opportunities regardless of economic status.
About the position: The Athletic Specialist's primary responsibility is to create and facilitate lessons that help support campers' athleticism in a variety of sports. We are seeking to hire a Field Athletic Specialist, and a Court Athletic Specialist, who are experts in multiple sports that are played on a field and a court. This individual will also help plan athletics related special events and tournaments for our campers (World Cup - Soccer Tournament, and PG Tournament - Basketball Tournament). We are seeking an individual who is passionate about working with kids, and is looking to share their knowledge and expertise with them. We are looking for someone encouraging, creative, and organized. This is a great opportunity to expand experience working with kids, while being supported by a community.
Responsibilities and expectations:
- Create and facilitate athletics lessons, ensuring that the content is accessible to campers based on their age group and ability.
- Teach warm ups and skills that will improve a camper's over athleticism.
- Support the daily routines established for their group.
- Communicate with counselor team and leadership consistently and effectively.

Compensation: Counselors live on site for the duration of their contracted dates. Room and board is included in salary. Applicant should be available between June 13th through August 10th. The salary for this position is $2,450 plus $200 for completing the season.
