PROGRAM ASSISTANT, PART-TIME BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) – March 2025

Project Prosper is a Clearwater, FL based organization with a mission to provide financial integration services and resources that empower refugees and immigrants to achieve financial stability and inclusion. The organization is seeking a part-time, Spanish/English bilingual Program Assistant based in Manatee or Sarasota County, with the intention to grow the position to full-time as presence in these areas grows. Position Description:

The Program Assistant will be primarily responsible for growing Project Prosper’s presence in Manatee and Sarasota County through community outreach, program delivery, and relationship development. This individual reports to the Executive Director but works closely with the leads in the Financial Literacy and Loan Programs. Currently, this position is currently fully remote, with frequent community outings required. Most will be in the Manatee/Sarasota County area, but occasional outings will required in Project Prosper’s other counties, Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco.

Responsibilities:

PROGRAMMING

Support the growth of the Financial Literacy Program, primarily in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. This includes:

· Teaching groups of adult participants about financial literacy topics

· Supervising, developing, and training volunteers

· Marketing the program in community outreach events and with community partners and funders

· Assisting with site coordination, program data, and volunteer management

· Other duties as needed

Support the growth of the Loan Program, primarily in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. This includes:

· Preparing and vetting client applications

· Coordinating the Loan Committee, which approves applications

· Supporting approved borrowers

· Marketing the program in community outreach events and with community partners

· Other duties as needed

ADMINISTRATION

Assist with fundraising events, gift processing, program and organizational administrative needs, and other duties as needed.

Required for applicants:

· All candidates must be based in Manatee or Sarasota County, Florida.

· Native or complete fluency in English and Spanish required – writing, speaking, and reading. Public speaking skills in both languages are required.

· Superb written communication and public presentation skills in English and Spanish for varying group sizes and a wide variety of cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, and English-speaking abilities.

· Comfortable using a computer, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and SharePoint. Airtable skills desired but not required.

· Have a reliable car, van, or truck for visiting community sites and the ability to drive in traffic, over bridges, and in other conditions in our five-county footprint.

· Able to work evenings and occasional weekends is required. Project Prosper minimizes weekend hours wherever possible to respect employee work/life balance, but evening hours may be frequent.

· Ability to work from home on a computer provided by Project Prosper. A quiet, private space and internet access are required.

Other skills that are a plus but not required:

· A strong desire to learn about the American financial systems or an existing understanding. Project Prosper will train candidates who need assistance in this area if they bring great skills in other areas. Candidates who meet the other qualifications but need assistance in learning about the financial systems are encouraged to apply!

· Experience in education, particularly adult education

Physical requirements:

· Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity

· Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands; and

· Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying

This position will begin as a 20-hour-a-week, hourly position, with the intention to grow the position to full-time as soon as next year. Part-time staff benefits include:
