General Counsel Opportunity at a Leading School Law Firm
We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our team and provide high-quality legal representation to school districts in special education matters.
Responsibilities:
- Represent school districts in due process hearings, impartial hearings, and administrative proceedings.
- Advise clients on compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504, and New York State special education laws and regulations.
- Draft legal opinions, policies, and proposed regulatory language for school district clients.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably in education law, special education, administrative law, or litigation.
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- A J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar.
