This position offers the flexibility to be structured as salaried or contract-based work, depending on the candidate’s preferences and availability.
Position Overview
As the Marketing & Communications Specialist, you will oversee Project RED’s communication strategies to effectively engage current supporters, attract new partners, and share the impact of our work. You’ll collaborate with our El Salvador-based team to create messaging that inspires action while maintaining an authentic connection to the families we serve.
This role is primarily remote, with some in-person responsibilities, including participation in fundraising presentations/events and one annual site visit to El Salvador.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Project RED’s social media strategy and presence to strengthen engagement and grow our online audience.
- Create, oversee, and execute communication and marketing strategies tailored to individual donors, churches, and organizational partners.
- Collaborate with the El Salvador-based team to capture and share powerful stories, photos, and updates that resonate with supporters.
- Implement strategies to expand Project RED’s supporter base across various demographics.
- Craft compelling content for newsletters, email campaigns, blogs, and other communication channels.
- Build and maintain relationships with individuals, churches, and other partners through outreach and personalized follow-ups.
- Represent Project RED at fundraising presentations and events in the US.
- Coordinate the development of marketing materials, including videos, graphics, and print collateral.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Strong skills in storytelling, content creation, and social media management.
- Ability to develop and implement communication strategies that drive engagement and action.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-cultural teams.
- Passion for social impact and alignment with Project RED’s mission and values.
- Willingness to travel for events in the US and an annual site visit to El Salvador.
- Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising is a plus.
