OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team at C&S Supplies. As an integral part of our sales force, you will be responsible for developing and expanding our client base in the industrial & retail janitorial, bar and restaurant supply industry. The position involves day travel within a 75-mile radius of Iron Mountain, MI, encompassing cold calling and order taking.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Business Development: Utilize your previous experience in developing large commercial and industrial business relationships to identify and secure new clients within the designated territory.
· Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
· Cold Calling and Prospecting: Engage in proactive cold calling to identify potential clients, assess their needs, and present our products and services effectively.
· Order Taking: Process client orders efficiently, ensuring accurate product selection and timely delivery.
· Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to strategically position our products and services.
· Travel: Conduct day travel within the 100-mile radius to meet with clients, attend industry events, and explore business opportunities. Company vehicle provided for work travel.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent, College education a plus.
· Must have experience in sales industry.
· Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
· Sound written communications skills and keyboarding.
· Proficient in technology-based systems. i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, 365.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Proven track record of success in outside sales, specifically in the industrial & retail janitorial, bar, and restaurant supply industry.
· Previous experience in developing and managing both large commercial and industrial clients, as well as small businesses.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
· Results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field sales environment.
· Knowledge of the local market and industry trends.
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must pass a criminal history check and drug test.
· Must Possess a valid drivers license and possess a clean motor vehicle record.
· Must be organized, detail oriented & flexible with work and time requirements.
· Effective time management required with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Must have the ability to establish a common understanding of goals & expectations with the business unit.
