What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Coordinator position at Project Success of Vermilion County, Inc.?
We are seeking an After School Program Site Coordinator, to manage our after school program at Danville High School. This position will manage the exciting programming we have to offer at Danville High School such as a music program in partnership with Danville Area Community College; art programming; a garden project in partnership with Carle at the Riverfront; civic engagement curriculum where students earn stipends; STEM programming and much more! This program is designed to help students succeed in school, plan for their futures and prevent violence/support students who have been exposed to violence. The salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Site Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
1. Development and coordination of out-of-school time educational and enrichment programs, including:
a. Recruitment and retention of students, including reaching out to students with the highest need such as students on the fail list or in need of extra social-emotional supports
b. Having the skills/ability and comfort level to assist students with grade level homework and projects
c. Oversight and progress reporting of evidence-based curriculum programs
d. Enforcement and management of the student discipline policy
e. Scheduling of activities, field trips, and use of onsite facilities
f. Establish and maintain community partners that can enhance programming and opportunities for students and families
g. Coordinate parent/family programs that will provide opportunities for parents to be regularly involved in their children’s academic and social-emotional development
h. Frequent communication and relationship-building with school administration and staff
i. Inform parents/guardians of individual student progress and participation through frequent contact (minimum of quarterly).
j. Connect families to services/resources in the community as needs arise
2. Recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of program staff, including:
a. Ensuring all site staff are in compliance with annual training requirements
b. Guiding site staff in developing weekly Program Plans that meet program goals and requirements
3. Conduct and assist in the completion of program evaluation and student progress in the following ways:
a. Monitor student enrollment, attendance, academic and behavioral performance, and social-emotional development of students
b. Record and keep up-to-date all data in the assigned data tracking system
c. Complete monthly, quarterly, annual and other reports as required by the agency and or funding streams
d. Conduct surveys of students and parents regarding ideas for programming and satisfaction with the program
4. Lead or assist with overall agency/team projects
5. Complete all required trainings and professional development opportunities required by the agency
6. Comply with the Personnel Policy Manual.
7. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or three years of successful experience in the youth services field preferred but not required.
- Ability to lead and build strong interpersonal relationships with diverse groups of people, including: students, parents, staff, and program partners.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Experience with program design and implementation as well as mastery of basic computer software/programs.
