Mechanical Designer
Project Technologies & Services (PTS) is a growing project management and engineering services company based in northeast Ohio. We serve customers in the industrial, manufacturing and commercial business sectors.
Scope of Position:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing technical drawings for various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role requires an understanding of CAD software, engineering principles, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings based on project specifications and requirements.
- Ability to design and develop 2D CAD drawings.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and optimize components, assemblies, and systems.
- Revise and update existing designs to improve performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and procurement, to ensure designs are feasible and meet project deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, including design reports and BOMs (Bills of Material).
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to support decision-making processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices in CAD design and engineering.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
Minimum associates degree or commensurate years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5 years) as a CAD Design Engineer.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing facilities or client sites.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
