Program: Bedford Green House Phase II
Salary Range: $80,000 to $85,000 annually
Program Description
Bedford Green House Phase One and Phase Two are supportive housing programs in the Bronx. The MBK Library and Learning Center is located in Phase Two. The combined project serves 232 individuals and families. The MBK Library and Learning Center will provide programming specifically designed to support the needs and enrichment of our residents, for example, homework help, group activities with Occupational therapists, child and adult reading programs, computer literacy, job readiness and more.
Job Description:
Reporting directly to the BGH Senior Director for Phase One and Two, this role will be responsible for all library operations, programming, reporting and planning for this special program which will serve families, children and young adults. The ideal candidate will be organized, compassionate, and experienced in working with children and families. This role requires the ability to manage workflow with cross functional teams, budgets, program schedules, attendance and to provide feedback and reporting is a must
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a library and learning center
Oversee the management of the library including materials review process, evaluating appropriateness of programs, scheduling and making recommendations for change and/or modification
Organize and oversee the inventory of all library materials and supplies, program curriculum/calendar
Work collaboratively with administration and clinical leaders, providers, and staff to provide evidence-based programming and operational framework to achieve optimal client experience, quality, and safety
Engage with children, families, and individuals in both group facilitation and individual skill building sessions
Ensure upkeep of the space, including monitoring daily cleaning, and ordering new supplies when needed
Coordinate with staff in BGH Phase One and Two to maximize attendance at groups and adjust programming, to meet the needs of the clients
Serve as liaison between In Homes Now Staff to invite families from the scatter site programs to special programing at the Learning Center
Create community connections for additional programming and groups run out of the library, including but not limited to: Understanding ACS, Financial Management, and Job Search Activities
Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the diversity of all staff and participants
Effectively track client experience, engagement and quality outcomes data as education programs are developed and modified to meet the needs of our clients and goals
Interact effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders from all levels of the organization and work collaboratively.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a classroom/library/learning environment/program
Strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and comfortable working with diverse youth and adults
Detail oriented, well organized, and good at problem solving
Embraces challenges and adopts new responsibilities with creativity and self-direction
Strong sense of accountability to deadlines and goals
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written - including grammar and spelling
Computer literate and skilled at learning new software
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Positive attitude and disposition; professional presentation
