Salary Range: $19 Hourly (per-diem)
Program Description:
Project Renewal’s workforce development (WFD) division helps individuals with histories of homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and justice involvement to prepare for, find, and retain employment. Programming includes pre-employment services, soft skills training, sector-based training, digital literacy, financial literacy, case management, job retention, career advancement and alumni services. Within the WFD division, Next Step operates several training programs: Employment & Training, Human Services Training, Next Step Internship Program, and Career Advancement Program.
Overall Responsibilities:
The Front Desk Attendant will be responsible for assisting with the front desk for Project Renewal’s Next Step and Parole Support TreatmentProgram (PSTP). They will assist in ensuring the smooth operation of the Next Step/PSTP office, including supporting staff and clients, scheduling of clients with Next Step staff, data entry, managing incoming and outgoing calls, maintaining updated and accurate client attendance records and maintain accurate records of metro card distribution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Business and Operations Manager of Next Step, the essential duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Reception and Administrative Support
Answer phone calls at the front desk and direct callers to appropriate personnel and assist clients and other visitors. Assist with room reservations and scheduling
Maintain the Front desk sign-in sheet for Next Step and PSTP guests and monitor the flow of clients in the waiting area
Assist with updating bulletin boards and resources
Maintain waiting area, meeting rooms, and cafe, and replenish supplies as needed
Assist leadership team with administrative duties
Data Entry and Client Support
Update clients’ case, attendance, metrocard records and documents in the internal database, Salesforce
Assist with updating funder information in client records in Salesforce
Call clients to verify their employment and HRA verification
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalency required
Excellent presentation and communication skills required
Prior front desk experience in workforce development programs or similar setting preferred
Prior work experience with individuals with histories of homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and justice involvement
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and virtual platforms (Microsoft Teams) required
Core Competence:

Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively access situations and notify supervisors if support is needed
Maintain confidentiality and security of client records, and ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations
