Position Description:
Projects Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team for full-time hours for the summer and if available during the school year. We manufacture complex small, machined components for the Aerospace and Power Systems industries. We have been in business for over fifty years. The qualified candidate will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible for assisting the Manufacturing Engineers with the shop's daily operations, analyzing the manufacturing process and procedures, and recommending strategic solutions to maximize productivity and minimize costs. The manufacturing engineering intern must have excellent communication and organization skills, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Improvement of current manufacturing processes and documentation
- Implement/develop 3D CAD based instructions
- Be willing to learn and run certain machines, such as CMM’s, Vertical milling machines, and basic lathes
- Document, Design and release manufacturing tooling/fixtures
- Enhancement of manufacturing test procedures/processes
- Learn about for incorporation into internal process specifications
- Support Lean/Kaizen activities
- Being able to flex between different work tasks
- Conducts data collection activities including time and utilization studies
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university, and must be seeking an undergraduate degree in technical field of study (prefer Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering)
- Must be a student in good standing
- Experience using Solid Works or similar CAD software
- Advanced Excel users
- Documentation & Specs
- PMI for our products development the task tracker
- Assist in collection & analysis of various manufacturing topics
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit and bend for varying amounts of time.
- Some lifting – up to 50 lbs. is required.
Job Type: Intern
Pay Range: $20 to $22 per hour

Pre-employment
