What You'll Be Doing:
The purpose of the Production Control Supervisor is to 1). Ensure smooth operations throughout the production and distribution of a given project by keeping up with demand, forecasting company needs, and ensuring the company is ready to ship product at all times; 2) Produce and manage viable production schedules to ensure all deadlines and production quotas are met; and 3) Lead and manage team accountability to ensure objectives are met.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead team by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; interpreting and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
- Track orders from initial request through to final delivery and ensure each step of the process happens on time
- Expedites operations that delay schedules
- Monitor the flow between processes, foresee any issues or delays, and coordinate the resolution
- Analyze and resolve any scheduling issues that would cause production delays
- Project monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue to management and track daily to ensure we meet customer and organization commitments
- Develop, track and report agreed upon metrics
- Provide progress reports and communicate any delays in shipping to the appropriate internal teams and customers, provide a new ship date as well as communicate the reason for the delay
- Ensure that capacity and inventory are considered in establishing the manufacturing plan.
- Develop and implement a master schedule that aligns with customer requirements and the material plan.
- Monitor inventory and alter schedules to meet incoming requests and needs
- Revise and reschedule work orders to compensate for rush order priorities, material shortages, and customer cancellations
- Run weekly production meetings to coordinate manufacturing plans
- Support daily production meetings and/or updates, as required with Shop Floor Supervisors
- Ensure timely management of customer change requests
- Interface with Contracts and Sales per procedures when customer ship date is at risk
- Interface with shipping department to ensure customer on-time delivery
- Support SIOP process.
- Analyzes Schedule to determine material and resource constraints.
- Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Conduct annual employee evaluations and provide feedback on strengths and areas for improvement
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities
