Project Manager

The Project Manager will directly manage government-funded and commercial projects that Projeo is engaged in such as:

• Federal Grants – Manage large, multi-year federal grants including the resourcing and execution of proposed work programs, financial management, reporting, and all other contract requirements.
• Commercial Projects – Manage shorter-term, time-sensitive confidential projects for commercial customers including resourcing, provision of deliverables on-time and on-budget, and financial management.

The Project Manager will also be responsible for leading the preparation of federal grant and commercial project proposals. Additionally, the Project Manager will contribute to Projeo’s Business Development efforts in new markets in other new markets where appropriate. The Project Manager will also be expected to contribute to the technical execution of work-scopes on projects managed by himself/herself and/or others, with a particular emphasis on field operational projects (e.g., seismic acquisition, well drilling and completion operations).

• Day-to-day management of a portfolio of government and commercial projects, including defining the scope of the project, staying on schedule, planning a project’s cost and sticking to a budget, managing project financial performance, managing project resources (including teams and workers), documenting the progress of the project, communicating with stakeholders, assessing risks, troubleshooting, and leading quality assurance.
• Plan and lead federal grant proposals (e.g., DOE), including preparation of technical materials, community engagement plans, budgets, management plans, and all supporting documentation. Conceive project concepts, recruit project partners and contractors, and understand goals of individual solicitations.
• Plan and lead commercial proposals including understanding customer needs, developing work scopes and budgeting/pricing.
• Contribute to Projeo’s Business Development efforts in new markets.
• Expected to contribute to the technical execution of work-scopes on projects managed by himself/herself and/or others with a particular emphasis on field operational projects (e.g., seismic acquisition, well drilling and completion operations).
• Travel to and from field sites to support and work on active field operations.
• Plan work schedules and help with logistics for vendors and field personnel.
• Coordinate and support field sample collection and laboratory services.
• Monitor third party personnel, services, and equipment in line with Projeo’s core values.
• Actively participate in data management and continuous process improvement or Projeo’s data management and collection systems.
• Coach and assist in the development of technical and operational team members on project management concepts.
• Work with business managers to refine and buildout Projeo’s Project Management Office and the supporting processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Software - Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Project Management applications and Enterprise Resource Management software.
• Vision – Excited about energy transition projects and willing to contribute to the development of energy transition projects.
• Management of Indirect Reports – Position required utilization of resources from elsewhere in the organization to execute assigned projects. Excellent relationships across the organization are required for the coordination and management of these resources. Be responsible for developing and maintaining close professional working relationships with Projeo’s customers and clients.

Supervisor: Program Manager

The Project Manager position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining close professional working relationships with Projeo’s Business Unit leaders as well as customers and clients. 

It is not envisioned that the Project Manager will have direct reports at least initially, however he/she will be responsible for the overall management of assigned projects including the resources assigned to each which will include persons that are not direct reports.

• Engineering or Physical Science bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year University or College.
• Greater than 15 years of experience in the upstream oil & gas industry and/or energy transition industries, including experience managing federal field demonstration projects and commercial consulting engagements.
• Prior experience with CO₂ storage a plus.
• Formal training in Project Management including certifications are highly preferred.
• Experience with field operations to include seismic acquisition, well drilling and completion operations.
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting/exceeding targets in a continuously changing environment.

• Requires a valid driver’s license.
• Work authorization for the United States.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to travel to customer locations, to professional conferences, and to field locations.
• Travel will be required (~25%).

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 USD annually, with a grade level of G15, and a target performance incentive of 10-11% of annual salary. This salary range is Projeo’s good faith estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, Projeo’s business or organizational needs and an individual’s relevant experience, education, qualifications, certifications, skills, seniority, geographic location, and/or performance. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the annual salary, grade levels, and bonus. The range listed is just one component of Projeo’s total compensation package for employees.
