Job Description Job Description We are seeking an experienced and dedicated FireShop Foreman to oversee daily operations at our shop . The ideal candidate will direct & coordinate the activities / functions of the Fire Shop; oversees the testing of portable / semi-Portable equipment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.FEL-B license (Fire Extinguisher License) RequiredResponsibilities : Performs multi-task functions often under the pressure of limited time constraints in a safe, ethical, cost-efficient, and professional manner; protects confidential company information and / or records.Reports to work in a timely manner at the time specifically designated by the immediate supervisor, (determined by work load, ships’ schedules and / or customers’ or agents’ request), in order to assist with fulfilling the duties / responsibilities of the clients needs. In relation to meeting delivery dates & times, understands the potential severe consequences for delaying a marine vessel.Maintains good working relationships with fellow employees, customers, vendors, ship personnel, agents and / or regulatory agency representatives; Promotes professional harmony, goodwill & teamwork in the workplace; Responds timely to the resolution of complaints & grievances; reports potential problems to General Manager immediately.Attends required Safety and QA training meetings (whether offered on or off site) as scheduled by the Safety Director and / or QA Manager; complies with ALL Company Safety Rules & Procedures, as well as those Safety Regulations of the Customers, Vendors and or the Regulatory Agencies (i.e. USCG, DOT, etc.); reports unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards in writing to the Safety Director immediately & makes suggestions to improve or enhance the safety policies of the company.Overseas the Fire Shop; Inspects, recharges, & repairs all types of fire and air equipment; Directs and coordinates activities of subordinates.Monitors the calibration requirements of all shop equipment; Ensures equipment is properly calibrated and records are kept current.Tests Portable / Semi-Portable equipment; follows all state, flag, and regulatory regulations for the testing of equipment.Follows all state, flag, and regulatory regulations for the testing of Breathing Air & Medical Oxygen.Tests Low pressure cylinders; maintains licensing required to service Low pressure Cylinders; completes and documents the service per FPS procedures; sand / paint / recondition cylinders as necessary.Tests High Pressure Cylinders; maintains licensing and registration with DOT for hydro testing high-pressure system; completes and documents the service per FPS procedures; sand / paint / recondition cylinders as necessary.Follows FPS procedures by recording all services completed on proper documentation, and records all parts used during servicing.Reads customer order, work order, requisition orders; follows FPS procedures when accepting materials for drop-off; tags all equipment delivered directly to shop.Trains co-workers and / or subordinates to adequately back-up these responsibilities; assists with training other staff workers to properly carry out the duties of the Shop.Performs and / or delegates additional assigned duties from time to time from other departments and / or other branch facilities that are reasonable & necessary to facilitate the completion of the company’s overall goals.Occasional Activities : The job duties of the Fire Shop Foreman may involve performing additional assigned duties from time to time from other departments and / or branches that are reasonable & necessary to facilitate the completion of the company’s overall goals.Other occasional job duties include : Traveling to other branch offices to train other employees performing the same or similar duties.Cross training co-workers in other departments.QUALIFICATIONS : FEL-B license (Fire Extinguisher License) RequiredHigh School diploma or GED; College and / or special training preferred; 1 – 2 years minimum related experience and / or training preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present and / or exchange information one-on-one or in small group situations to customers, clients and / or other employees of the organization.Proficiency in Windows applications (Word, Excel)
