Job Title: Manufacturing Technician - II

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Technician to support the manufacturing of integrated products in the loop heat pipe area at our Beltsville, MD facility. This role will involve working closely with engineers to perform set-up and calibration tasks, rework, quality testing, and contributing to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to follow technical procedures, and a commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced, craftsmanship-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with engineers to set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
- Perform rework and quality testing to ensure products meet specified requirements.
- Use advanced programs to collect and analyze operating data, making real-time adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment as needed.
- Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with engineers in conducting experiments to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Follow detailed written instructions and technical procedures for assembly and manufacturing tasks.
- Operate hand tools, power machinery, and other equipment to process materials such as metals, composites, and wood.
- Work closely with lead technicians and supervisors to meet build requirements, schedules, and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (education will be verified).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality workmanship.
- Familiarity with hand tools and good math/geometry skills.
- Ability to read and follow written manufacturing instructions and technical procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules to meet production deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with computer software such as MS Word and Excel.
- Previous experience in an aerospace manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Experience preparing and mixing epoxy and silicone adhesives for component installation.
- Knowledge of handling hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA standards.
