Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. This role involves working closely with a diverse patient population, including those with critical care needs, and requires the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assess and monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform gastric lavage and assist with ventilatory support when necessary.
- Provide care for infants and patients with developmental disabilities, ensuring their unique needs are met.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Cerner systems, documenting all relevant information.
- Lift and transfer patients safely, adhering to best practices for patient handling.
- Participate in the development of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments as required.
Experience
Candidates should have a valid nursing license and experience in a medical/surgical setting. Familiarity with critical care practices is preferred. Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is a plus. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Cerner, will be beneficial. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential for success in this role.
