JOB DESCRIPTION :

  • Practice Setting : Hospital-based general surgical pathology practice
  • Reason for Coverage : One pathologist is leaving in September
  • Dates of Coverage : Dates in November
  • Laboratory Hold : CAP, CLIA, AABB
  • Number of Cases Read Per Day : Approximately 30
  • Physicians in the Group : 3
  • Histotechnologists : 4
  • Pathology Assistants : 1
  • Cytotechnologists : 1
  • Other Pathologists Present During Coverage : Yes
  • Equipment : Usual AP equipment, including Thermo Scientific Cryostat and Olympus Microscopes
  • Method of Preparation : ThinPrep
  • Required Anatomic Pathology Procedures : Surgical Pathology, GI Pathology, GU Pathology, Neuropathology, Dermatopathology, Cytology
  • Average Number of Patients Per Day : 30
  • Documentation System / EMR : PowerPath and Cerner
  • Trauma Level / Designation : Level 1

    • SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Clean Background- highly preferred
  • Board Eligible / Board Certified in Pathology - REQUIRED
  • NJ license (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED
