ProLogistix is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a Material Handler job in Burlington, NC. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity. As a Material Handler you will be responsible for in any or all stages of picking and packing of preserved biological specimens. Apply Now if you meet the qualifications listed below!

Pay : $16.00

Shift : 6am - 3pm, M-F

Responsibilities for this Picker / Packer / Material Handler job include :

Sorts orders following company or departmental guidelines.
Picks specimens according to customer order.
Consolidates orders by gathering necessary items from all areas.
Checks the items against Packing List or Bill of Material.
Performs final quality control.
Pre-wraps items, dry-pack items, pack items in buckets as necessary. Fills buckets with holding fluid.
Transports orders to loading dock for motor freight shipments or to packing area for general packing.
Packages specimens in appropriate containers, seals and labels containers. Packs containers in appropriate shipping cartons, fills with void fill, closes cartons and seals, prepares and affixes correct shipping labels, records number and weight of items to be shipped. Scans pick ticket to allow order to be fully shipped within computer system. Transfers completed order to designated area for pick-up by Transportation.
Participates in any or all stages of biological specimen preparation, which includes but is not limited to dissection, injection of embalming fluid, and injection of latex to aid in identification of circulatory system and other systems.
Cross trains for other positions within the department.
Moves, as needed, to other areas of production or fulfillment within the department, to assist in the completion of daily tasks.
Follows safety regulations and complies with all applicable state and federal laws and20 regulations.
Follows oral and written instructions.
Maintains work areas in a clean, neat, and orderly manner.
Performs other duties as assigned .

Job Requirements :

Qualifications for this Picker / Packer / Material handler job include :

Ability to work with forceps, scissors, scalpel, and other hand tools.

Ability to use barrel wrench.

Ability to use dry pack machine, and various sealing machines.

Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Employee must have a high level or finger dexterity.

Ability to make quick, coordinated movements of one or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Employee must have a high level of manual dexterity.

Ability to keep the hand and arm steady while making an arm movement or while holding the arm and hand in one position. Employee must have steadiness of arm / hand.

Ability to see details of objects at close range. Employee must have near vision.

Ability to work with others to insure the work is complete. Employee must be a team player.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group organization.

Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and to perform these operations using units of size and weight measurements, volume, and distance.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
