ProLytX engineering IT experts bring innovative solutions to complex engineering problems. ProLytX is searching for an S3D Administrator in the Houston, TX area. Duties and responsibilities:
- Set up and manage new/existing engineering projects using standalone or workshare environments.
- Configure Hexagon S3D application in accordance with client and/or project standard(s)
- Install product software hot fixes, patches and perform version upgrades with the associated functional acceptance testing.
- Setup and configure hierarchy, naming rules, document numbering format, border file, volume name,ing definitions, project specific pick lists, common filters, catalog components, and surface style rules.
- Create and manage drawing viewstyles and templates for orthographics and isometrics.
- Create and manage SmartPlant Review data for model reviews.
- Setup and configure external 3D reference data for vendors using Smart Interop Publisher.
- Load code lists, add standard reports and templates, upload/bulk-load catalog and reference files.
- Develop Piping Materials Specifications in S3D.
- Setup, configure and manage scheduled services, batch routines and clash detections.
- Perform database integrity checks and document resolutions.
- Perform backup and restoration of data for S3D.
- Troubleshoot S3D software issues and provide user-support to project resources.
- Troubleshoot extraction issues for isometrics and orthographic drawings.
- Interface with Hexagon support teams using smart support, e-mail and phone.
- Prepare end user training materials, provide trainings, and create project specific job notes.
- Assist with data interfaces/integration methods and processes between S3D and other systems.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant experience of SmartPlant 3D Administration.
- Understanding of 3D plant design practices, pipe modeling work processes and isometric generation.
- Experience with performing application training and user support.
- Understanding of S3D metadata browser and SQL queries.
- Understanding and workingknowledge of relational database storage systems such as Microsoft SQL or Oracle.
- Understanding of S3D project execution within a multi-contractor site workshare environment.
- Experience with the engineering workflows of an EPC or an owner/operator environment.
- Experience with laser scan data, and its use with 3D systems is a plus.
- Experience with programming languages (Visual Basic and/or C#) is a plus.
- Capable of prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking on multiple projects at any given time.
- Capable of maintaining effective working relationships with teammates, clients, and vendors.
- Effective oral and written communication skills required.
- Experience with PDS, PDMS, E3D, CadWorx or other modeling software is a plus.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software as needed.
Education:
Degree in engineering (mechanical/industrial/chemical/petroleum), Technology/Computer Science or relevant engineering and construction experience with S3D.
