CNC Lathe Operator

Serpa Packaging Solutions is looking for a CNC Lathe Operator to join our growing organization!  In this role, you’ll be tasked with fabricating quality parts on a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathe machine. You will also support the company's Quality Control standards to ensure that fabricated parts are made according to company standards, customer specifications, and any applicable regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Program, set up and operate CNC lathe equipment (manual tooling; does not have live tooling).
• Load parts, proving tapes, cycle machines, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, and inspection of quality parts for conformance to production requirements.
• Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
• Work collaboratively with other CNC Programmer(s), machinists, and supervisor.
• Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
• Recommend and make mechanical adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements. Follow and consistently maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work. Adhere to company quality and rework standards and expectations.

Desired Requirements:

• High School or GED Diploma; Vocational training or Certification preferred.
• Previous experience operating a manual lathe required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC Programming and machining using a CNC Lathe.
• Must be knowledgeable of and skilled at programming in G code.
• Able to select and manually change-out proper tooling and machining resources for accurate manufacturing of parts.
• Able to properly use measuring tools, which includes Calipers and Micrometers.
• Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes.
• Must possess your own tools: 6 or 8 inch caliper, 1inch to 3 inch micrometer, tape measure, allen wrench set, and file tool.
• Able to work overtime based on business need.

• Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped spaces.
• Physical effort that may include the lifting of supplies and materials that weighs up to 40 pounds.

Base Salary Range: $20.00 - $28.00
