Benchmark Automation is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Supervisor. In this role, you will:
- Commission, test, and debug packaging machinery control systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment while in the field.
- Troubleshoot / modify Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programs for existing packaging machines with direction from Engineering.
- Build and wire Control Panels
- Field wiring for machines and installations
- Basic mechanical work

- Proficiency troubleshooting electrical circuits, I/O devices, VFD’s, servo motors and various industrial networks.
- Hands-on experience working with industrial automation equipment.
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation programming software with the ability to connect to Allen Bradley PLC’s and HMI’s for troubleshooting and some coding.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Electrical/technical and two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read blue prints and electrical schematics
- Understanding of panel wiring guidelines
- Experience in troubleshooting electromechanical machinery
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Basic use of hand tools
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% (sometimes on short notice) and have a valid driver’s license
