CL&D has a great opportunity for a Packaging Support Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer, co-packer, or supplier locations to provide technical support for product lines, including troubleshooting and process optimization.
- Provide material sizing, specifications, and mock-ups for sales and customer projects based on customer requirements.
- Collaborate with customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to material handling, sealing, adhesion, and overall runnability.
- Provide guidance and training to customer operators and engineers on best practices for product lines effectively.
- Work closely with internal production, quality, sales, and account services teams to address client concerns and recommend product improvements.
- Document service activities, issues resolved, and customer feedback for continuous improvement and product development.
- Assist in product testing, quality assurance, and process enhancements to ensure compatibility with various packaging machines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, flexible packaging materials, and best practices for optimal performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Packaging Science, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience in technical support, field service, or quality assurance within the flexible packaging industry.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, adhesives, coatings, and their performance on various machinery.
- Experience with flexographic, gravure, or digital printing technologies is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to travel extensively, including internationally as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
