PROMAN Staffing has partnered with our client an international food/beverage company to source and hire an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician for their facility in Sioux Falls, SD.

Our client is seeking a skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to maintain and optimize food processing equipment, refrigeration systems, and building maintenance. This role ensures compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) and upholds the highest standards for ammonia refrigeration maintenance.
Refrigeration Technician Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on refrigeration and ammonia systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.
- Maintain and execute PSM compliance under plant engineer guidance.
- Inspect and adjust equipment to ensure peak performance.
- Oversee facility maintenance and support capital projects.
- Assist in developing risk mitigation and accident prevention programs.
- Maintain exemplary response times for refrigeration service requests.
Refrigeration Technician Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree or Vocational School certification in Maintenance Technology.
- Experience: 3 years in ammonia refrigeration maintenance; 5-7 years in maintenance within the food industry (USDA cheese/dairy preferred).
- Certifications: R.E.T.A. or Refrigeration Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months); Forklift certification.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical skills with MS Office proficiency.
- Communication: Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, instructions, and safety protocols.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
