CNC Setup Technician

PROMAN Staffing has partnered with a leading manufacturer of high-precision metal components in Elgin, IL.

We are now hiring experienced CNC Setup Technicians who are team players, technically skilled, and reliable.

Pay rate: $23–$25 per hour (based on experience)

1st shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm
2nd shift: Monday–Friday, 4:30pm–1:00am

CNC Setup Technician Job Summary

• Set up CNC machines for production, including tool changes and offsets
• Adjust machinery settings to optimize performance
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical and dimensional issues
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measurement tools
• Maintain accurate documentation and production records
• Support safety protocols and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with operators to ensure smooth production flow
• Help reduce scrap and downtime by identifying and solving problems on the floor

CNC Setup Technician Qualifications

• 5 years of CNC setup or machining experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in reading blueprints, micrometers, calipers, and indicators
• Experience with tool offsets, fixture setup, and troubleshooting common issues
• Understanding of ISO/TS 14001 quality standards is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
• Able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods
• Flexible for overtime and occasional weekend shifts
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
