Position : Database Admin
Location : Plano, TX
Duration : Long term
Strong Application DBA skills to join our team.
The successful candidate will have expertise in both on-premises and Azure MS SQL Server Managed Instances, bringing a passion for data management, optimization, and security.
At least 10 years of experience and actual recent experience working as DBA independently and owning it end to end.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Database Development & Management:**
- Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using MS SQL Server.
- Work with Azure MS SQL Server Managed Instances to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Support and manage on-premises MS SQL Server databases, ensuring seamless integration and migration to Azure services.
- **Application DBA Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with application development teams to ensure database designs meet application requirements for high performance and availability.
- Perform database tuning, optimization, and query analysis.
- Implement and maintain database security best practices.
- **Monitoring & Performance:**
- Monitor database performance using appropriate tools and recommend improvements.
- Analyze and resolve database performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
- **Backup & Recovery:**
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Conduct regular database audits to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- **Collaboration & Support:**
- Provide support for database environments and resolve any issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure streamlined database operations.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a Database Developer with a solid understanding of Application DBA responsibilities.
- Extensive experience with MS SQL Server (both on-premises and Azure Managed Instances).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and T-SQL programming.
- Experience with Azure cloud services and tools related to database management.
- Solid understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and security best practices.
- Problem-solving attitude with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Power BI reporting knowledge on top of all skills or/and knowledge or experience with Microsoft Power Platform would be a big plus.
- Certifications related to MS SQL Server and Azure databases.
- Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell or similar tools.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database projects
