What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Manager, Supply Chain - Contracting and Sourcing - Full Time - Hybrid position at ProMedica?
Manages a portfolio of supply and equipment contracts for ProMedica system wide. Supports key ProMedica service lines from a supply chain perspective. Negotiates supply agreements to obtain 'best-in-class' pricing, terms, and conditions on behalf of PHS business units. Evaluates GPO contracts for potential savings opportunities. Works closely with leadership, physicians, clinicians, and department heads to determine supply chain/contracting requirements and work toward product standardization and supply cost reduction
ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Brings a strategic supply chain focus to key service lines of ProMedica Health System and works with personnel from all levels of each PHS business unit to effect change that will reduce purchase price, supply utilization, and expense.
2. Negotiates large volume purchasing contracts and leverages ProMedica volume to obtain 'best-in-class' pricing, terms, and conditions. Implements contracts and facilitates change. Initiates strategic sourcing initiatives.
3. Interviews and screens vendor representatives for the purposes of negotiating favorable terms and conditions while upholding a high degree of business professionalism.
4. Prepares detailed Request for Proposals (RFP's) with respect to product, price, delivery, and service requirements, including other value-added programs. Evaluates vendor proposals consistent with standard purchasing practices and principles. Conducts detailed quantitative analysis to determine best overall proposal. Develops and prepares final contract documents.
5. Manages a portfolio of PHS supply agreements and is responsible for contract maintenance. Takes ownership of purchasing agreements within area of responsibility and assures contracts are accurately loaded into supply chain ERP system and maintains electronic contract headers and price database working closely with application analysts.
6. Provides assistance to end users with interpretation of contracts so as to maximize contract utilization. May facilitate and make presentations to committees and to senior management.
7. Assists and supports with other areas of supply chain such as purchasing and materials management.
8. Leads system-wide initiatives and/or process teams that focus on product standardization or business process improvement. Makes recommendations and presents proposed solutions to senior ProMedica leadership.
9. May perform and assist with special projects and strategic planning efforts in support of the key objectives of the PHS supply chain division.
10. Other duties as assigned.

- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, or equivalent work experience, with prior supply chain and contracting experience.
- Skills:
- Must possess strong negotiation skills with previous experience in vendor relations.
- Must be able to demonstrate previous successes in supply cost reduction initiatives and contract savings.
- Must successfully be able lead project teams toward business process improvement.
- Must be able to perform accurate financial analysis in a format presentable to leadership.
- Must be fluent in computer programs such as Excel, Word, Lawson, or other ERP systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Professional appearance and demeaner.
