Job Description

Located in Fremont, Ohio, ProMedica Memorial Hospital has served the citizens of Sandusky County and the adjacent communities since 1918. In fact, our hospital was built with funds raised by members of our community on land donated by the family of former United States President, Rutherford B. Hayes.

Assigns, trains and oversees duties and projects on assigned shifts. Processes, updates and schedules meeting room set ups and requests. Assists manager with projects, inventory procurement and Purchase Service Contracts. Provides clerical support as requested. When short staffed assist with the daily cleaning and supplying of assigned areas which may include patient rooms, nurse stations, lounges, laboratories, bathrooms and offices following the cleaning procedure as outlined in the Environmental Services Department Policies & Procedures and in accordance with the facility's objectives. Will use all cleaning devices. Will train staff on equipment which may include wet mops, small wringers, dusters, household type vacuum cleaners and other necessary tools, products and supplies, auto scrubber, extractors and buffers for floor care and carpet care. Will assure training and competency completion. Will be the Administrator for the MSDS Online Account.

Job Requirements

Education : High school diploma or equivalent

Skills : Ability to work with chemicals and to measure correct mixing of chemicals. Ability to communicate and to receive instructions both verbally and in writing. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of basic computer use.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills : Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare environment

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE

The individual must be able to prioritize a wide variety of tasks, make decisions, cope with stressful situations, meet tight timeframes and adapt to changes in work load and work schedule. Must be able to tolerate continuous exposure to provided cleaning compounds.
