What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner - Infectious Disease position at ProMedica?
ProMedica Physician’s Group (PPG) has an excellent opportunity for a full time, board eligible/board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a busy, well-established Infectious Disease practice in Sylvania, Ohio.
- Complete follow up appointments at the practice on patients who are released from the hospital under the care of Sylvania Infectious Disease Practice or others referred to the practice for follow up.
- Assess, Treat and Develop Plan of Care within scope of any new patients referred to the Sylvania Infectious Disease Practice.
- Monitor effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
- Exercise prescriptive authority to prescribe according to federal, state, and local laws.
- Make appropriate referrals to physicians, specialists, and community resources.
- Provide patient education, coaching and counseling.
- Work collaboratively with Infectious Disease Physician to complete in-patient rounds in the various hospital we service (ProMedica Toledo, ProMedica Flower, ProMedica Flower, and Regency located at St. Charles Hospital).
- Respond to calls from patients who have questions about care, medications, or appointments.
Job Requirements:
- Certificate of Authority to practice.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification.
Physician Assistant:
- Master’s degree
- Licensed or license eligible in the state of Ohio.
- Certificate of Authority to practice is required.
Nurse Practitioner:
- Master of Nursing (MSN) degree
- Licensed or license eligible in the state of Ohio
