JOB SUMMARY
Performs radiological diagnostic procedures at the provider's request for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Obtains high quality radiographs that are interpreted by the provider and / or Radiologist in his / her evaluation of the patient.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Operates radiologic equipment, selecting proper technical factors on an individual basis; positions and immobilizes patients; exposes patients to radiation to produce high quality radiographs and records the exposures for diagnostic interpretation by the provider.
- Maintains departmental equipment and facilities in designated areas in a clean, orderly condition and in compliance with infection control guidelines.
- Utilizes proper radiation protection, shielding patients, using proper collimation, etc. (provides protection in accordance with prescribed standards).
- Reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Performs front desk duties including patient registration.
- Assists in other areas of the practice when patient volume allows.
- Participates in practice staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as directed.
