POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Grants Manager, the Planning Associate is responsible for providing developmental support to the Primary Care Grant Department's efforts to support and expand La Casa de Salud's programs and services through public and foundation grant funding and other program development initiatives. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Administrative Functions
- Assist the Grants Manager in ensuring that grant funds are utilized in compliance with applicable terms and conditions. This includes the preparation and processing of all purchase orders, check requests, and other necessary documentation, including those related to HR requirements.
- Support post-award activities, including tracking program deliverables and preparation of progress reports.
- Assist in the administration of grant administrative portals, including HRSA Electronic Handbook (EHB), Grants.Gov, eRA Commons, NYS Health Commerce (HCS), NY Statewide Financial Systems (SFS), etc.
- Development and maintenance of grants department file repository.
- Attend all required trainings mandated by HR, regulatory agencies, and those relevant to the scope of work.
- Support the administration and oversight of active grants by ensuring proper tracking, monitoring, and compliance with grant requirements
- Other duties as assigned.
Development Functions
- Assist with the research new funding opportunities on a local, state, and federal level both with private and public funding to support existing and planned services.
- Draft funding application workplans and track progress until completion.
- Assist in the development of regulatory applications/submissions required to update the scope such as NYS DOH Certificate of Need (CON), HRSA Change in Scopes, etc.
- Research statistics, trends and data for grant proposals including research and data-gathering — both from internal and external sources.
- Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, needs assessments, applications and supporting documents.
- Work collaboratively with Program staff on program development, workplans and program design.
- Complete all grant applications and progress reports on time.
- Run, collect, and analyze internal and external data from relevant resources including Azara Healthcare, Power Bl, UDS Mapper, community health assessments, etc. for proposal development and reporting requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in a related field (public health, health administration, English, journalism, communications, etc.) preferred. BA/BS Minimum.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in grant writing, grant management, and program/project management and coordination. with a preference for experience with governmental grants/contracts.
- Experience writing for health-related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as HRSA, SAMHSA and NYSDOH.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Solid administrative experience, ideally within the non-profit sector.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, or related software.
