POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is a professional-level position for Supervisor, specializing in family support services (Department of Social Services in Erie County). The Supervisor oversees program personnel, accepts ECDSS referred cases helps and assigns to case planner, client file audit, day-to-day management of the program, prepares monthly reports (including OCFS quarterly reports), and hosts weekly staff and program monthly coalition meetings. This position is critical to providing quality, compassionate, and efficient services to their Preventive team members since the families receiving the services are at risk.
This position pays: $23.64 per hour. THIS POSITION IS IN BUFFALO, NY
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The program capacity is for two (2) Case Planners and one (1) Supervisor. Each Case Planner will have a caseload of 14 families (total of 28 families will be served at one time at one time).
- Within 24 business hours from when the Preventive Program Supervisor accepts the case referral only from Department of Social Services in the Erie County and accepted case will be assigned to case planner by supervisor. A Preventive Service Case is opened on the acceptance date determined by the Supervisor and referring ECDSS worker. Supervisors will also assist with determining the closing of case along with the ECDSS case worker once all in agreement.
- Supervisor will revise the case planner case notes in Connections system to ensure all case worker activity has been documented and on timely manner.
- Supervisor is to review and approve the case planners Family Assessment Plan Review reports and submit to the ECDSS case workers for approval.
- The program supervisor monitors the case planner's billable units and tracks every contact with the families, outside agencies, and service providers.
- Supervisor will assist with registering the case planners with any Child Welfare Services trainings pertaining to case work practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in vocational rehabilitation, education, social work, human resources, public policy, social sciences, or a related field is preferred, and at least one year of paid experience in human services.
- Bilingual and bicultural and fluent communication skills in both Spanish and English a plus. Must be able to facilitate a good working relationship with county caseworkers and be knowledgeable of and sensitive to the special needs population.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable and fully insured vehicle.
