Job Description:

This opportunity is ideal for a self-driven and motivated Occupational Therapist looking to build upon past experience or a new Occupational Therapy graduate seeking a challenging start to their career. (NEW GRADS ARE WELCOME!)

• Perform and document initial assessments, evaluate data to identify problems, and determine diagnoses prior to intervention.
• Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs to maintain, improve, or restore occupational functioning, alleviate difficulties, or prevent dysfunction in patients.
• Record prognosis, treatment response, and progress in patient charts or computer systems.
• Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
• Administer exercises, manual therapy, or adaptive equipment to help patients achieve their goals.
• Evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Test and measure patient’s strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, and more, recording data accurately.
• Instruct patients and families in treatment procedures to continue at home.
• Confer with patients, medical practitioners, or other appropriate parties to plan, implement, or assess intervention programs.
• Review physician’s referrals and patient medical records to help determine diagnosis and treatment required.
• Comply with professional, ethical, and legal standards.

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
• NY State Occupational Therapy license
• Confident clinical decision-making skills
