Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Customer Reference Manager to join our Marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for building relationships with our top customers, understanding their stories, and leveraging these relationships to support our sales and marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will be a passionate customer advocate, skilled at identifying impactful reference opportunities, and adept at collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
● Work with the Sales and Customer Success teams to identify and engage reference customers who can provide testimonials, participate in case studies, and speak at events and webinars.
● Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers to understand their success stories and willingness to participate in reference activities.
● Set up a system to track these reference activities and their status.
● Own the customer reference content we manage in HighSpot to ensure it’s current and easy to find.
● Team up with product marketing to identify specific quotes and customer stories you’d like to obtain and then identify customers willing to sign off on them. Rather than having many similar quotes, we consider where they’ll be used in the buyer's journey.
● Partner with the events and campaigns team to line up speakers for live and virtual events. We want to turn our customers into heroes!
● Create programmatic triggers to encourage customers to leave reviews on G2 and Captura at opportune times. Think about how we reward our advocates and thank them for their support.
● Serve as a liaison between customers and the Product team, ensuring the voice of the customer is heard and providing customers with direct access to product managers.
● Consider launching an MVP program for our community to recognize users with soft benefits, including identity, belonging, and access.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
● Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer reference program management, customer marketing, or related roles, preferably in the software or technology industry.
● Proven track record of developing and executing successful multi-channel marketing campaigns.
● Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and customer reference management platforms such as UserEvidence, ReferenceEdge, Orca, etc.
● Experience driving successful 3rd party review site programs, including G2, Capterra, and Software Advice from recruitment to ratings, as defined by impactful content and review submissions.
● Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with customers at all levels of the organization.
● Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving customer advocacy and loyalty.
