English Second Language (ESL) Teaching Specialist
Summary:
Prometric is a leading provider of technology-enabled testing and assessment solutions. We are currently seeking English as a Second Language (ESL) professionals with expertise in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to participate in an expert panel for a standard setting study scheduled for July 2025. We will be hosting eight total standard setting meetings in which SMEs will be reviewing test material for four different parts of the CELPIP exam: reading, listening, writing, and speaking. The CELPIP Test is Canada’s general English test for immigration, citizenship, professional designation, and for admission to universities, colleges, and vocational programs.
SMEs are required to attend at least 4 days of the standard setting meetings available. This work will be conducted remotely, and participants will be compensated.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience teaching or evaluating English as a Second Language in a general English context for 3 years.
- Knowledge of and experience in working with Common European Framework of Reference for Languages standards in educational or professional settings.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Commitment of at least 4 days (for participation in two skill areas), with a maximum of up to 8 days (covering all four skill areas).
- The ability to work online from home for a series of meetings to be scheduled in the month of July 2025.
- Ability to go to a test center to take a 3-hour exam at specified US Locations OR to take the exam in a remotely proctored environment.
- Available Test Locations Include: Chicago, Culver City, Greenwood Village, Houston, Lombard, Longwood, Mountlake Terrace, New York City, San Antonio, San Francisco, San Jose, and Washington D.C.
- Minimum commitment = 4 days (participation in panels for two out of four skills components); maximum commitment = 8 days (participation in all panels).
- SMEs must be available for 8 hours per day on meeting days.
