Role Overview : As a Founding Engineer, you will be a core part of all sides of Promi. You will work closely with us on a daily basis to improve our model architecture, engineer new features, build new integrations, ship app updates, and more. You will wear many hats and truly have exposure to all sides of the business, even non-technical areas such as sales, design, product, etc. We are a collaborative team. Expect to be a part of the decision making process and form thoughts and opinions on areas outside of your typical domain. Key Responsibilities
Machine Learning Model Development :Design, develop, and train machine learning models for a variety of use cases (e.g., predicting customer price elasticity).Fine-tune models using advanced techniques, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, and transfer learning.Evaluate model performance and iterate to improve accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.Data Engineering & Pipeline Development :Build and maintain data pipelines to ingest, preprocess, and clean data from multiple sources (structured and unstructured).Implement robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and automate data workflows.Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality and availability for model training and inference.Full Stack Application Development :Develop and maintain the back-end infrastructure for machine learning applicationsBuild interactive front-end interfaces for our merchant-facing app, including dashboards, discount creation tools, and discount management tools.Develop new integrations with other applications to support new features and onboard additional merchantsCollaboration, Strategy, and Roadmapping :Work closely with the founders to help inform our product roadmap and long-term business strategy. You will wear many hats, and as such expect to weigh in on many broad areas of the businessRequired Qualifications
Strong background in Machine LearningExperience in building and deploying models at large scale in productionExperience in development algorithms in areas such as optimization, model architecture and data centric optimizationsExperience in building complex and large scale data pipelinesPromi constantly deals with large amounts of ever-growing structured and unstructured dataBe very comfortable with frontend developmentTypescript, well known libraries such as Nextjs, Remix.
