HRPN APP - Emergency Department

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high- acuity environment. The APP will possess strong clinical skills, excellent decision-making abilities, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department (ED), including assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients across all age groups with a wide range of medical conditions.  Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care.  Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging studies, and EKGs.  Prescribe medications and manage treatments independently and in collaboration with the attending physician.  Stabilize and manage critically ill or injured patients in emergency situations.  Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care and treatment plans.  Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental goals for patient safety, efficiency, and satisfaction.  Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.  Provide patient education and discharge planning, including follow up care instructions and referrals to specialists as necessary.  Participating in ongoing HIPAA training and compliance activities as required by the organization.  Understanding and strictly following all medical staff services policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient and effective operations. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department or urgent care setting REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:  Active and non-restricted state licensure as an APRN or PA  Active and non-restricted DEA  Current ACLS, BLS, and ATLS certifications PREFERRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:  N/A We offer competitive pay, a generous benefit package and a reason to be proud of what you do, every day.
