The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of respite employees and operations, program development and quality improvement consistent with the fidelity of peer-run respite models. The Program Manager provides leadership and mentorship and coordinates all aspects of programming including crisis management, daily review of calls and notes on the IT platform, performance management, and general technology support for the Respite team. Thie Program Manager has in depth knowledge and expertise of PRN’s peer-run respite and statewide peer-run warmline models, ensuring that the two are working in partnership. This position ensures that PRN’s values of trauma healing, recovery, peer support, harm reduction, social justice and human rights guide all decisions and are operationalized in the peer respite processes, procedures and objectives. This position works closely with the Regional Director to communicate program updates and ensure consistency with program operations across each respite employee.

Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and mentor peer Respite team members, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Peer Respite.
- Collaborate with the Regional Director in the recruitment, hiring, training, and ongoing professional development of peer Respite employees.
- Apply knowledge of national peer respite standards, research, practices, charters, etc., to ensure program integrity and quality.
- Proficient in recognizing the difference between a mental health crisis, in which unconditional support is effective, and an emergency, requiring 911, medical intervention, or other supports.
- Manage the guest check-in process, including initial conversations, tours, ongoing support, and check-out process.
- Coordinate and facilitate team meetings, individual and group supervision, and training.
- Ensure key factors in call evaluations for both quality of service and performance are effectively assessed and improved.
- Coordinate with the Program Coordinator to develop and maintain standard operating procedures, policy guidelines, and forms.
- Ensure timely and clear communication with supervisor and team members.
- Conduct monthly supervision and annual performance evaluations with Respite employees, document the outcomes, and share results with the Regional Director.
- Share lived experiences, support wellness and recovery, and honor different pathways of recovery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Current North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist.
- Belief in the recovery potential of all people and is committed to the philosophy of peer support by reinforcing their ability to work and/or achieve personal goals.
- Ability to receive guidance, training, and mentoring to grow skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrates leadership by modeling PRN’s mission, values, philosophy, and guidance to team members.

- Ability to manage time and complete tasks.
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation.

- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) using active and reflective listening, asking curious questions, validating others' experiences, remaining non-judgmental, and demonstrating effective conflict resolution skills.
- Must have a valid NC Driver’s license.
