The Promontory Conservancy is looking to fulfill a vacancy for a Conservancy Landscape Technician – Full time Summer Seasonal.
Conservancy Landscape Technicians provide for the maintenance of all communal grounds and property at Promontory. The Conservancy Landscape Technician will also help maintain over 40 miles of private community roads.
The summer season will range from the beginning of May through the end of October. This position will have the ability for top performers to continue their employment with Promontory after the summer season and become full time, permanent employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working knowledge and understanding of working with hand and power tools.
- Utilize equipment, power tools, small machinery, and hand tools to carry out full-service installations and proper handling of all materials.
- Play a major role in the installation process of landscapes including; shrubs, trees, perennials, mulch and topsoil.
- Responsible for raking, mulching, aerating, weeding, trimming and mowing of communal grounds.
- Follow project instructions from the Lead Foreman and execute tasks efficiently.
- Keep vehicles, machinery, and tools in good repair and working order.
- Mix, spray and spread fertilizers and insecticides.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management.
- Other duties as assigned by the Conservancy Operations Director.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; must be at least 18 years of age.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON JOB: Abide by Promontory policies and procedures and submit ideas for possible revision; work independently with little supervision; courteous and helpful with Promontory Club Members and employees.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time; ability to spend time in an outdoor environment in the sun, rain and other conditions; ability to lift a maximum of 100lbs and the ability to lift up to 60lbs occasionally; must be willing to work various hours, holidays and weekends.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must have a valid Driver's License and 21 preferred in order to operate Company Machinery.
Wages range from $18/hr - $25/hr DOE and will be commensurate upon employment based off of experience.
