We are looking for people with experience in Food Technologist, interested in starting a SWEET career as part of our Finance team at PIM's Headquarters in Park Ridge, New Jersey.
The Food Technologist will develop and scale new food products, from concept to commercialization, while leading sensory evaluations of ingredients and prototypes. The role involves working with teams to source raw materials, ensure regulatory compliance, and conduct stability studies to confirm product quality. Additionally, the position includes designing experiments, troubleshooting production issues, and maintaining lab equipment and inventory.
- Bench-top formulation of new products and scale up prototypes. Take new products from ideas to commercialization.
- Lead sensory evaluation of raw materials, flavors, products, and prototypes. Must be able to taste different ingredients, including fruit and vegetables juice, as well as commercial food products.
- Able to timely translate customer requests to prototypes that meet all the criteria. Ship samples, maintain retainers and create accurate formulations in the company system.
- Work with Supply Chain and Quality Assurance to source, screen and qualify new raw materials and vendors and assure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct stability studies on existing and new products to confirm shelf life and other product attributes.
- Evaluate competitive products, follow market trends and technologies, propose and design new innovative prototypes / products.
- Able to design and conduct experiments, analyze data, report findings, and make recommendations.
- Assist in developing SOPs and technology transfer documents to production and QC.
- Support onsite plant trials, first production runs and troubleshoot production issues in conjunction with QC.
- Maintain the lab testing equipment through periodic maintenance and calibration.
- Manage Inventory of laboratory supplies, raw materials, and samples.
