Job Summary
The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that enhance PPAI’s brand reputation, drive member engagement, and promote the promotional products industry within the global marketing community. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Media, this role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality marketing campaigns, content, and initiatives that support PPAI’s strategic objectives.
This role also oversees the Creative Services Team, ensuring cohesive brand strategy and consistency across all channels, enterprise initiatives, and external partnerships. The Director of Marketing will set strategic priorities that drive messaging consistency and creativity while ensuring alignment across marketing functions.
The Director of Marketing oversees the planning, execution, and performance analysis of integrated marketing initiatives across various channels, including digital platforms, social media, events, email marketing, and advertising. This role ensures alignment between marketing objectives and broader organizational goals, supporting PPAI’s mission to advance the promotional products industry through innovative, data-driven marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Planning (35%)
- Oversee and provide strategic direction to Marketing Managers, the Digital Marketing Manager, and the Senior Manager of Creative Services to ensure marketing initiatives are consistent, cohesive, and aligned with PPAI’s objectives.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies that enhance PPAI’s brand visibility, engagement, and credibility.
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Media to establish marketing goals, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.
- Plan and oversee the execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital platforms, events, publications, social media, email, and advertising.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and creative outputs, maintaining alignment with PPAI’s brand standards.
- Monitor marketing trends, member feedback, and competitive landscape to refine strategies and optimize results.
Campaign Management & Execution (30%)
- Lead the development and delivery of high-impact marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences and drive measurable results.
- Collaborate with the Creative Services team to produce engaging content, ensuring cohesion across all platforms.
- Oversee the management of digital marketing efforts, including SEO, social media, email marketing, paid advertising, and content marketing.
- Implement data-driven approaches to track campaign performance and enhance marketing effectiveness.
- Ensure campaigns are aligned with research findings, advocacy priorities, and organizational objectives.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment (20%)
- Work closely with the Director of Media & Research to ensure integrated marketing and media strategies align with PPAI’s advocacy efforts.
- Partner with the Digital Marketing Manager to drive cohesive digital marketing efforts that align with broader marketing objectives.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Creative Services to produce engaging content and creative assets that enhance engagement and credibility.
- Provide strategic oversight to Marketing Managers in developing campaigns that align with member engagement, events, and advocacy initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and cross-functional synergy.
Reporting & Analysis (10%)
- Develop and maintain marketing dashboards, reports, and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Media based on performance analysis and industry trends.
- Continuously refine marketing strategies and tactics based on data, research insights, and evolving member needs.
Budget Management (5%)
- Assist in developing and managing the marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to achieve strategic objectives.
- Monitor budget performance, making adjustments as needed to optimize impact and ROI.
Experience Requirements
- 7 years of marketing leadership experience.
- Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that enhance visibility, engagement, and credibility.
- Extensive experience in digital marketing, creative services, content development, and campaign management.
- Strong expertise in analytics, SEO, social media, paid advertising, and strategic communication.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that resonate with diverse audiences and drive tangible results. Experience working with agile-based workflow management platforms (Workfront, Asana, etc.).
