PromptCare is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Specialty Pharmacy team. Under the direction of a Pharmacist, each Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing clinical support to PromptCare patients by assisting the Pharmacist with day-to-day duties. Reports to: Pharmacy Supervisor
Job Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8:30am - 5:00pm
Job Location: Lenexa, KS
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Active pharmacy technician certificate in state of practice without restrictions.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
- Computer skills: familiar with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office required.
- Sterile compounding experience preferred
- Understanding of accuracy in mathematical calculations including pharmacokinetic dosing preferred
- Understanding of aseptic technique preferred
- Experience working as a pharmacy technician in home infusion or specialty pharmacy preferred.
Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to:
- Demonstrates understanding of current USP standards and State Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Prepares and tracks outgoing shipments to ensure continuity of care for patients
- Pull, pick and pack supplies and medications for patient shipments, under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist
- Coordinates deliveries and performs follow-up calls to patients and /or caregivers, as assigned
- Performs efficient data entry of pertinent prescription information into electronic medical record and pharmacy tracking systems
- Performs cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy clean room in accordance with ARJ’s policy and State Board of Pharmacy regulations, as applicable
- Remain current with State Board of Pharmacy continuing education requirements
- Assists with pharmacy inventories and associated documentation and reporting
- Assists in obtaining and tracking of billing information and documentation
- Ensures compliance with documentation requirements
- Ensures pharmacy compliance with PromptCare policies and procedures
- Performs sterile and non-sterile compounding of medications under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist and in compliance with state and federal regulations, current USP standards and PromptCare policy and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
