This 10-week paid internship opportunity provides hands-on experience in various business areas, impactful project involvement, and networking opportunities across the three-tier spirits industry. SIP 2025 is designed for driven individuals seeking to establish a career in the spirits industry.
As a Compliance & Market Insights Intern, you will be an integral part of the team conducting real-world retail audits and driving insights that inform business strategy. You’ll gain a deep understanding of compliance, merchandising, competitive positioning, and market dynamics, while contributing to key business outcomes. We are looking for interns in Long Island & Westchester and Northern counties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct in-person retail audits at stores to evaluate compliance standards.
- Collect and analyze retail execution data related to shelf placement, merchandising, and promotional displays, with a focus on the RTD (Ready-to-Drink) and RTS (Ready-to-Serve) categories.
- Assess in-store branding, pricing strategies, and presence of competing products in designated retail accounts.
- Provide detailed, organized reporting on store conditions, violations or gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in developing actionable insights and present key findings to management to improve execution and compliance.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure data is leveraged effectively in strategic planning and account activation.
- Support ad hoc projects and fieldwork assignments that enhance your exposure across departments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a four-year college or university as a Rising Senior, Senior, Recent Graduate (preferred), or MBA student pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Hospitality, or a related field.
- A strong desire to pursue a career in the wine and spirits industry, especially in areas such as compliance, market insights, or field marketing.
- Availability to work full-time for the 10-week program from May to August 2025.
- Must be 21 years of age or older by the start of the internship.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without future sponsorship needs.
- Proven leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in field research and data entry.
- Experience or proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets/Docs, and analytical tools.
- Comfortable traveling locally for retail visits; ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
