Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teradata Developer to join our client's Financial Crimes Technology team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, solution architecture, and full lifecycle application development, particularly in the context of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and financial crimes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance applications to support Financial Crimes business goals.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document applications and maintain existing systems.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define and refine system requirements.
- Recommend and implement technological solutions to gain a competitive advantage.
- Provide technical insight across the development lifecycle and data strategy.
- Contribute to user story refinement and estimation of work scope.
- Conduct proof-of-concept implementations to evaluate new technologies.
- Set up and automate CI/CD pipelines using modern tools.
- Work closely with support, platform, and business teams to manage changes, upgrades, and new requirements.
- Lead data governance best practices with Data Analysts and fellow Developers.
- Advocate for and apply engineering best practices and enterprise standards.
- Partner with business teams to develop success metrics and sustainability plans.
- Communicate effectively with management, peers, and stakeholders.
- Follow Agile principles and ensure compliance with Enterprise Change Standards.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience as a Teradata Developer.
- In-depth understanding of Teradata platform and end-to-end application design.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Teradata 16.x, SQL, BTEQ scripting
- TPT, Informatica 10.x
- UNIX Shell scripting, Autosys
- Cloudera CDP, Hadoop (Hive, Impala, PySpark, Scala)
- Strong data sourcing, modeling, and provisioning skills for AML and financial crimes use cases.
- Proven experience in performance tuning and large-scale data migrations.
- Agile development practices and modern CICD tools: Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible.
- Strong UNIX and shell scripting capabilities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Skills:
- Business knowledge in AML, Fraud Detection, or Financial Crimes domains.
- Ability to multitask across design, development, and team coordination in distributed environments.
