Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR, and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and LiveNation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater.
Proof of the Pudding, operator of COTA’s food service is seeking an experienced Culinary Supervisor to join the team. This position will be a lead in the back of house overseeing daily prep work, café food product, and event execution.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day culinary operations for COTA events as scheduled.
- Assist with the coordinating of food and kitchenware orders.
- Assist with inventory and organization of storage areas and oversee checking in and putting away food orders.
- Assist in the development of menu items and game-day packages.
- Be an onsite supervisor during food service times.
- Managing time effectively to ensure all BEO/menu items are completed prior to service times and according to recipe guidelines.
- Managing the team that is scheduled in the kitchen or pantry areas.
- Assist with on-the-job training of new employees ensuring all staff are set up for success.
- Attending and executing each assigned event to ensure that it runs smoothly from the set-up to the break-down.
- Assisting in post-event tasks including inputting payroll and inventory as directed.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2 years of experience in a lead culinary role with experience in catering or high volume.
- Experience in a stadium setting is preferred.
- Ability to produce menu items consistently and in high volume.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on team development
- ServSafe certified or is available to receive training.
Specialized Qualifications:
- Attention to detail to ensure all ordered items are correct and following company policies, including health guidelines.
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Renowned time management and organization skills
- Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to go above and beyond a client’s needs.

Work Environment
The work environment for this position will work out of and report to Circuit of the Americas. Events may be indoors, outdoors, or in temporary structures. This position will be in and out of kitchen spaces utilizing typical kitchen equipment including ovens, stovetops, tilt skillets, knives, griddles, freezers, etc.

Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of moving through an event space, and traveling throughout kitchens
- Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
- Must be able to lift up-to 30 pounds at times.

Position Salary & Benefits:
- This is considered a part-time, hourly role with a starting rate range of $20-$25/hour.
- Schedules will range upon business demands.
- Must be available to work the F1 race event days of 10/16-10/23
