Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. This role involves a variety of duties related to shipping, receiving, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with company standards. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a key role in processing shipments, managing inventory levels, and maintaining accurate records for aviation materials and parts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage functions related to warranties, returns, repairs, cores, receiving, shipping, inventory control, and export compliance for aviation materials and parts.
- Receive and inspect aviation parts and equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards, certifications, and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers and vendors regarding order status, warranty claims, core returns, and shipping status for aviation parts.
- Ship aviation materials and components, ensuring packaging complies with aviation-specific regulations, such as labeling, hazardous materials handling, and customs documentation.
- Represent aviation manufacturers, such as Cessna Aircraft Company, in a professional manner internally and externally.
- Prepare and organize export documentation for international shipments, ensuring compliance with export regulations and customs procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and receipts, including serial numbers, part numbers, and certifications for aviation materials.
- Oversee resolution of warranty claims related to aviation materials and components.
- Collaborate with the aviation maintenance team to ensure timely delivery of parts required for aircraft maintenance and repair operations.
- Implement both existing and new procedures related to aviation materials handling, shipping, and inventory control.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of serial numbers, part numbers, and certifications for aviation materials.
- Track and manage inventory levels of aviation parts, including shelf life compliance and storage according to FAA guidelines.
- Prepare management reports on inventory levels, shipping and receiving activities, and performance metrics.
- Negotiate transportation rates and ensure cost-effective methods for shipping aviation parts.
- Purchase packing and shipping supplies for aviation parts from competitive vendors, ensuring availability in sufficient quantities.
- Develop strategies to minimize overhead costs in the shipping and receiving department, maximizing return on investment (ROI).
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior shipping and receiving experience is preferred.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Must pass drug screening test.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as needed.
