Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Private Equity Associate to join our dynamic team at Propel Equity in our Boston office. As a key member of the investment team, you will play an integral role in the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of private equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Sourcing: Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities through market research, networking, and industry analysis.
- Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including financial modeling, industry analysis, competitor benchmarking, and risk assessment.
- Deal Execution: Assist in the structuring, negotiation, and execution of investment transactions. Work with internal teams and external advisors to support the deal process.
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Build and maintain financial models to assess potential investment returns, perform sensitivity analysis, and project financial performance.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor the performance of portfolio companies, including financial performance, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives.
- Investor Reporting: Assist in the preparation of investment memos, presentations, and reports for both internal stakeholders and external investors.
- Industry Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new investment opportunities.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1-4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to assess and interpret financial statements.
- Experience with due diligence processes and familiarity with M&A transactions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with senior management and external parties.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
