What are the responsibilities and job description for the On-site Benefits Administrative Assistant position at Propel HR?
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will support the administration of employee benefits programs for our clients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of benefits-related tasks. This role involves assisting Benefits Account Managers with inquiries, maintaining benefits records, and collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure the smooth operation of client benefits programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists Benefits Account Managers with the enrollment, maintenance, and termination of employee benefits programs.
2. Processes and/or reviews benefits-related forms and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
3. Maintains organized and up-to-date benefits records, including enrollment data, waivers, and changes.
4. Audits payroll system to ensure accurate benefit plan deductions for new hires, terminations, qualifying status changes, plan renewals, etc.
5. Supports the preparation of benefits-related reports for management and regulatory purposes.
6. Communicates effectively and professionally with Propel employees, clients and their employees, agents, and insurance carriers.
7. Handles special projects and assignments as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in benefits administration, payroll, accounting or a related HR role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS software
- Exceptional customer service skills are a must.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) required; ability to work well with a team or independently
- Ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to function well in an environment that presents frequent interruptions
